Third Wave Digital’s Response to IOS14

Monday, April 26th, Apple released their IOS 14 update. This update includes the App Tracking Transparency Policy (ATT). This policy requires developers to ask for permission when they use certain information from other companies’ apps and websites for advertising purposes. For TWD clients, this primarily affects Facebook / Instagram and Google ads.  In Response, Facebook is now implementing Domain Verification in respect of Apple IOS 14 privacy changes. Domain Verification is the process of letting Facebook know that you own a website. Once your website is verified, you can associate your Facebook page with the verified domain. Now only verified owners can edit the way content appears on Facebook.

 

Facebook and Google ads are both now using modeled conversion data for reporting. This means that since they can’t attribute conversions to iOS14 devices, they are algorithmically estimating the volume of conversions achieved.
