TWD partners with OmniUpdate to deliver Top Notch Web Presence to Rosemont.edu
Posted on Oct 15, 2015
Rosemont College’s tagline is “the power of small” but they knew the importance of thinking big when it came to the redesign of the Rosemont.edu website. This Catholic school wanted nothing less than the holy trinity of EDU website development: Concise Information Architecture, Award-Winning Design and a Powerful CMS. The newly redesigned http://www.rosemont.edu boasts a responsive design, an interactive campus map, and the Content Management System, OmniUpdate.
Information Architecture is a crucial part of any web development project, especially one that involves a move to responsive design. Third Wave Digital provided valuable insight during Rosemont’s information architecture process to ensure that the site navigation was focused, easy to use and all inclusive. Each page then had to be carefully evaluated and streamlined for OmniUpdate’s content migration process.
Rosemont was in need of a more modern design to suit this modern institution and Third Wave Digital was more than up to the challenge. The new design pays homage to the color palette of the school while providing some contemporary updates. The homepage now features dominant photography showcasing the faculty, student and campus facilities. Go a step deeper to one of the custom responsive templates developed by Third Wave and you’ll find templates that include specialized widgets designed to be managed with the OmniUpdate CMS.
Learning about the campus just got a lot easier due to Third Wave’s Interactive Campus Map solution. The interface built on Google Maps goes deep into key buildings on campus. Users can see the kinds of services they will find in each building, pictures, parking lots and even the nearest vending machine. Taking it a step further, prospective higher education students can easily get directions to campus from their current location using the GPS technology in their computer, tablet or mobile device.
Third Wave was extremely excited for the chance to partner with OmniUpdate, Carla Schwab, Operations Director of Third Wave Digital had this to say about the opportunity “We keep a finger on the pulse of the EDU world and were familiar with the OmniUpdate brand through numerous conventions we’ve attended, so we jumped right in. Our designers and coders were able to provide OmniUpdate with the coded templates they needed to skin into their CMS. We are happy to say that the partnership produced a web product that Rosemont College is not only proud of, but can manage and keep up to date”
