Requirements
The Virtual Plant Tour was created for Progress Energy’s Harris Nuclear Plant Visitors Center in New Hill, North Carolina. Progress Energy wanted an interactive plant tour that educated visitors about the different areas that make up a nuclear power plant.
Third Wave Solution
The virtual tour is an interactive, informative presentation designed to show users what each area is responsible for, daily operations and how the areas interact with one another. Third Wave Digital designed and developed a unique user interface based on an aerial photo of the Harris plant. When visitors select an area of the plant, the presentation flies in to the selected area and plays a series of videos. Third Wave provided all of the conceptualization and programming for the presentation in addition to customized 3-D animations for some of the plant’s areas.
