Requirements
Florida Power and Light needed a unique and innovative way to educate the general public on the concept of nuclear fission and how a nuclear plant uses controlled chain reactions to generate electricity. Since nuclear fission is a difficult subject to grasp especially for the prime target audience of school aged kids, it was necessary the video stayed factual, but applied some fun and exciting presentation methods.
Third Wave Solution
Meet Professor Lunea and his animated assistant Fatz (yes he is a domino) the stars of Third Waves production of "Fission, The Amazing Chain Reaction ! This 5 minute video presentation was shot entirely on location in an actual science lab where the lead actor was a real scientist conducting live experiments. To add to the levity of the video Third Wave created the 3-D animated lab assistance Fatz the Domino. Together Professor Lunea and Fatz demonstrate the concept of fission using live action props, 3-D animation and resource footage from Third Wave Digital film library all blended together to create a highly effective video.
